HGTV Dream Home 2012: Get the Look!

HGTV 2012 Dream Home from www.HGTV.com

The HGTV 2012 Dream Home rises from the rolling hills outside Park City, Utah as a beautiful piece of architecture while still reflecting the natural beauty of its setting. Formal walled gardens of ornamental grasses and custom corrugated steel accents on the roof tie the home into the meadows below and the sky above. You can bring a little Dream Home to your home with these options for a similar composite shingle-metal roofing combination.

Shingles:

This home features Owens Corning Duration Premium Shingles in Storm Cloud, here are some options to get a similar look with products engineered for energy efficiency or with products to fit into a tighter budget.

Energy Efficency:

Duration Premium Cool Shingles in Sunrise. These Energy Star qualifying shingles give a similar look with blended tones in slightly lighter shades to reflect more sunlight and reduce radiant heat transfer.

Timberline Cool Series in Cool Weathered Wood. These energy star qualifying shingles incorporate special high reflectivity and special coloring to reduce radiant heat transfer. This product, when installed by a Master Elite contractor such as Lone-Star Roof Systems, can also carry an extended lifetime warranty.

Lifetime Shingles:

Oak ridge Shingles in Driftwood. This product is a classic shingle look in a warm blend of tones to accent your home in similar hues to the HGTV Dream Home.

Timberline American Harvest in Cedar Falls. Like the Timberline Cool series above, this product can be installed as part of a Weather-stopper roof system by a Master Elite contractor and carry an extended lifetime warranty.

Corrugated metal accents were used to give the appearance of additions to an existing home. Picture from www.HGTV.com.

Metal:

Corrugated steel with Galvalume finish. This option is corrugated with a galvanized finish that shows the natural color of the steel while protecting it from the elements. Unlike typical barn metal in 30 gauge, corrugated roofing metal would be 24 or 26 gauge and be durable and impact resistant. One such option is a Berridge Deep Deck panel profile

Standing Seam steel panel. This is a more common profile for modern roofs which features hidden fasteners and a clean look and also comes in 24 or 26 gauge. This panel is available in Galvalume finish as well as metallic and premium pre-painted colors to coordinate with your homes color scheme. These options feature a paint finish warranty as well.
